What you will be doing:
- General administrative and office duties.
- Learn about Jovia’s systems, policies and procedures regarding matters that are referred to the department for handling.
- Help provide general guidance and daily direction to other departments and branches, including but not limited to review of legal documents in accordance with our established procedures.
- Assist with responding to legal inquiries within established service levels to maintain operational excellence.
- Assist in all areas for recordkeeping of legal documentation to ensure execution of required action. Coordinate necessary communications as specified by applicable laws to ensure adherence to corporate policies, departmental procedures, and banking regulations.
- Help to monitor legal processes to ensure proper notification and compliance with legal documents. Coordinate various types of legal documentation with counsel to ensure timely responses.
- Work with management and assist with continued development of loss control and anti-compromise measures to protect general assets, proprietary information, and processes of Jovia.
- Work within a goal-oriented framework, including setting and achieving the goals determined by management.
- Under supervision, perform other duties in addition to normal responsibilities to help the overall workflow of the department and other departments as assigned by the team leader or direct report.
What we Need from You:
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in the financial services industry. In lieu of experience, the candidate may also be obtaining or recently completed a four-year degree (BA/BS) in legal studies or related field of study.
- PC literacy is required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written are essential as well as skills reflecting a positive attitude are critical to success in this position.
- A confident professional, who is detail oriented with the ability to multitask and work autonomously and/or with a team as required.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required, exhibit a cooperative spirit, willingness to work as part of a team, and a commitment to member service.
Work From Home and Hybrid Requirements: This particular position is Hybrid and requires in-office / plus work from home days to our offices in Westbury, New York:
• Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net).
• Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
• All equipment will be provided by Jovia (Computer, Monitor, Headset)
