About the Role:
Join SHAWN D BARTLEY AND ASSOCIATES, LLC as a 2L-3L Summer/Fall Law Clerk in our dynamic and fast-paced small law office in Silver Spring, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while working alongside experienced legal professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in legal research and drafting of documents including motions and briefs.
- Attend client meetings and assist with case preparation.
- Review and summarize case files and legal documents.
- Support attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.
- Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information.
- Maintain case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
- Collaborate with team members on various legal projects.
- Stay updated on legal trends and developments relevant to our practice areas.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school, preferably 2L or 3L students.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a legal setting is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated commitment to public service and community engagement.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced attorneys.
