Function Description
Work with the Legal department to assist with day-to-day legal matters and review legal documents and contracts.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Sr. Attorney
Supervises: None
Contacts: Legal Department, various internal credit union staff
Qualifications/Requirements
Education: Must be currently enrolled as a full time law student at an ABA accredited law school.
Experience: Prior banking, commercial contract, or estate planning experience highly preferred.
Skills: Excellent written/verbal communication skills and outstanding problem solving/decision making skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Strong attention to detail
Highly developed ability to manage time, tasks, deadlines, and shifting priorities
Strong computer skills in office applications
Equipment: PC, printer, copier, fax, telephone, calculator
Essential Functions
- Provides a valuable and enjoyable experience to both internal customers and members during interactions.
- Review of legal documents such as trusts, power of attorneys, and estate documents.
- Draft letters and communications to members, attorneys or government agencies related to legal matters.
- Gather and organize documents for outside counsel when requested.
- Review and revise contracts for existing vendors such as non-disclosure agreements, order forms, and renewals.
