Overview
The Unified Family Courts Department is seeking a motivated individual to our team as an Entry-Level Clerk. As a Unified Family Court Clerk, you will serve as a key contributor to the efficient and accurate processing of sensitive case-related information. This role supports the daily operations of the Unified Family Court, which oversees data entry of court order matters involving children and families—including Family Support and Alimony, Domestic Violence, and Juvenile (Dependency and Delinquency) cases. These responsibilities include: managing data entry and case documentation, ensuring timely and precise processing of court orders and filings and collaborating with supervisors and team members to uphold high standards of service and professionalism. This position requires attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to supporting families through the judicial process. By maintaining the integrity of case records and workflows, you’ll help ensure that each case is handled with care and in accordance with legal requirements.

Position Function and Duties
As a Unified Family Court Clerk, you’ll play a vital role in processing case-related information, managing data entry tasks, and supporting the daily operations of our department. You’ll work closely with supervisors and teammates to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in every interaction.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Open and distribute incoming mail and work to appropriate destinations
- Process electronic filings via the ePortal
- Initiate cases in the case management system
- Complete follow-up tasks for new and subsequent filings
- Assist Customer Service with phone and Skype inquiries
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, agencies, and the public
- Prioritize workload to meet departmental time standards
- Report issues and needs to teammates or supervisors
- Participate in special projects and other assigned duties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year clerical experience, or equivalent education/experience
- Banking experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong keyboarding and data entry accuracy
- Proficiency in business English and math
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with tact
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with PCs, printers, and standard office equipment
- Willingness to work extended hours when needed
