Summary
Levin, Paolino & Christ Government Relations Consulting is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to work as an intern for the Spring 2027 semester. Qualified Candidates reside in the state, preferably in the greater Hartford area, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and are pursuing a degree in political science, public administration, or other related fields. Applications will be accepted until 10/31/2026. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis. Further qualifications and responsibilities are listed below.

Levin, Paolino & Christ is a highly regarded government relations firm focused on helping organizations and companies achieve their legislative goals through our work with the state general assembly and executive branch agencies in Connecticut. The firm represents a wide array of clients in different industries such as transportation, higher education, regional economic development, entertainment and ticketing, utilities, banking, and housing. With decades of experience in state government, prospective interns will gain access to a unique and distinguished learning experience.
Responsibilities
Interns are expected to participate and complete the following activities:
- Track proposed legislation.
- Research policy issues and familiarize yourself with issues relevant to clients.
- Review and summarize legislative proposals and amendments.
- Draft memos, electronic correspondence, and reports for clients, legislators, staff, and other relevant personnel.
- Note taking during committee meetings, public hearings, press conferences, and legislative sessions.
- Assist lobbyists in routine tasks (i.e., printing relevant documents, attending in-person meetings, monitoring session activities)
- Attending the internship for your university’s minimum requirement of hours per week.
Qualifications
Prospects will be deemed qualified if they meet the following criteria:
- Currently attending a college or university in pursuit of either an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA at their current institution.
- Pursuing a degree relevant to the position (i.e., Political Science, Public Administration, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of the legislative process.
- Proficiency in navigating Microsoft 365 products.
