This 11-week summer internship is designed for senior undergraduates or Master’s, JD, or PhD candidates seeking exposure to a professional, corporate environment. The internship is project-based, with each intern assigned one or more clearly defined project(s) aligned to the hosting department’s priorities.
Internship Overview
The Summer Legal Internship Program is an 11-week, project-based experience designed to give students ownership, mentorship, and exposure to how in-house legal teams collaborate with business partners across a global organization.
This role is all about learning by doing and applying what you’re studying in real-world settings. The internship emphasizes skill development while contributing to meaningful work. No prior legal experience or fixed career plan is required. We’re looking for curious, motivated students who want to understand how things work, ask thoughtful questions, and explore how legal teams support business and innovation. Strong attention to detail, openness to learning new tools, and interest in technology, innovation, or AI are valued, though experience is not required.
The intern will gain exposure to several legal groups across the organization, including U.S., R&D, Business Development, Intellectual Property (IP), Global Legal Corporate Affairs, Global Technical Operations, and International. This breadth of exposure is intended to provide insight into how legal teams support the business across functions, regions, and stages of development.
Project Areas
Projects vary based on team needs and intern interests and may include:
- Supporting innovation initiatives, including exploring and using AI-enabled tools or agents
- Designing and conducting surveys and other methods for gathering information and feedback
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing survey and interview results
- Building, organizing, and delivering centralized folders or file structures to improve information-sharing within teams and across the Legal function
- Building or refining communication tools and presentation materials
- Reviewing existing processes and recommending improvements
- Legal research and writing
- Drafting newsletter content and other internal communications
Key Responsibilities
- Independently plan and execute project tasks with manager guidance
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders as appropriate
- Communicate progress and challenges proactively
- Collect, organize, and analyze information relevant to the project and draw actionable conclusions
- Participate in team meetings and scheduled check-ins
- Organize work, manage timelines, and track deliverables
- Document work clearly, accurately, and professionally
- Deliver a final presentation with findings, outcomes, and recommendations
Learning & Development Opportunities
By the end of the internship, students will:

This internship is designed to be a meaningful learning experience. Interns will:

- Explore how legal teams are evolving through innovation and AI
- Leave the program with professional experience, confidence, and deliverables to share in future interviews—whether pursuing law, business, technology, or another path
Minimum Qualifications
- Senior undergraduate student or Master’s, JD, or PhD candidate at time of internship
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage ambiguity
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of initiative and accountability

- Interns who demonstrate strong performance, skill alignment, and cultural fit may be considered for full-time employment following the program, based on business needs and role availability.
