About the Role
Shift is seeking a Legal & Compliance Intern to collaborate closely with our internal legal and compliance team.
This internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world legal and regulatory matters within the fintech and digital asset space. You’ll support active cases, conduct research, and assist with legal documentation while gaining insight into how legal and compliance functions operate inside a fast-moving technology company.
This role is ideal for a pre-law student or current law student looking to deepen their practical experience and apply academic learning to real business challenges.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support active arbitration and litigation matters.
- Conduct legal research and discovery related to ongoing cases.
- Prepare and organize legal documents for presentation to outside counsel.
- Review contracts, agreements, and related documentation.
- Assist with internal legal and compliance workflows as needed.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

What We’re Looking For
- Pre-law degree holder or currently enrolled in law school.

- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones.
- Ability to manage multiple small tasks while meeting deadlines.

This internship requires 10-15 hours per week, which can be completed fully remote or in a hybrid format with our New York City headquarters.
This is an unpaid internship with academic credit available.
