Position Summary
The Legal Intern will support the Legal Department by assisting with daily operations, contributing to ongoing legal and compliance-related projects, and developing foundational skills in corporate law, contract review, legal research, and risk management.
This role is ideal for students who are detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn how an in-house legal team supports a fast-paced, multi-brand organization.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities (All Interns)
- Support department initiatives through research, documentation, and project coordination
- Assist with cross-functional collaboration across the 1-800-Flowers family of brands
- Attend team meetings, present findings, and share progress with stakeholders
- Participate in internship learning sessions, networking opportunities, and workshops
- Contribute ideas to enhance business processes and improve customer experience

Legal
- Assist with legal research on corporate, employment, marketing, and commercial matters
- Support contract review, organization, and tracking under attorney supervision
- Help maintain legal documentation, templates, and compliance records
- Assist with policy updates, internal audits, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Support special legal projects related to risk management, governance, or litigation support
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Legal Studies, Pre-Law, Political Science, Business, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); legal research tools a plus
- Demonstrated interest in corporate or in-house legal work is a plus

The expected hourly rate for this position is $19.00. The actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by the law.
