Job Summary
Kutak Rock LLP is seeking 1Ls for 2026 summer associate opportunities with the firm's Omaha office. The Omaha office includes the Corporate, Litigation, Public Finance, Tax Credits, and Real Estate & Finance Departments, which span several practice groups. The Omaha summer program is a 12-week program from late May to mid-August. The 1L summer associate summer will be divided into two, 6-week periods to ensure exposure to multiple practices.
Kutak Rock’s summer associate experience provides law students with an opportunity to become more acquainted with who Kutak Rock is, the clients we serve, and the work we do. As a summer associate, you will have the opportunity to deepen and expand your knowledge of research, writing, document drafting, and getting important insights into the legal field. Working alongside seasoned lawyers will expose you to a variety of legal topics and teach you how to apply analytical and critical thinking abilities when examining case files and court decisions. From the first day, you will be part of a team working on significant projects for our clients. During your summer with us, you will become familiar with our practice groups and receive mentoring and guidance from Kutak Rock’s lawyers, who are invested in your growth and development and will equip you with the skills necessary for a successful legal career.
Summer Associates Should Possess The Following Qualifications
- Exceptional research and writing skills;
- Strong critical-thinking and issue-spotting skills;
- Time and case management skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate thoroughly and meet deadlines; and
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues, including staff.
