Searby PLLC is seeking a Legal Intern to assist in various legal matters, with a focus on white-collar defense.

This position offers hands on experience working closely with a former federal prosecutor and provides a valuable opportunity to contribute to complex legal work. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities and a capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Estimated Timeframe: Fall Semester, August - December

Pay $20 per hour, estimated 10-15 hours per week

Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain legal files including case documents and correspondence.
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents.
Conduct legal research and summarize findings.
Coordinate case schedules and deadlines.
Assist in preparation of trial materials, including exhibits and witness lists.
Manage document intake, task status, and ad hoc tasks as required by attorneys.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice area.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field OR
Paralegal certificate or diploma from an accredited institution.
Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and terminology.
Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
Excellent organizational skills and multitasking skills.
Proven experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant (preferred but not required).
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
