The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and implementing all phases of attorney recruitment which include entry-level recruiting, lateral recruiting, attorney integration, and the summer program for assigned markets.
Essential Duties
Fall Program (1L/2L Hiring and Fall Outreach)
Coordinate all aspects of fall recruiting for 1L and 2L students, including Traditional, Diversity Scholar, IP, and Fast Track (Dallas-Only) Programs for their markets. This includes screening resumes, scheduling interviews, greeting interview candidates in the office/virtually, preparing summaries of evaluations, and leading recurrent Recruiting meetings with the Hiring Partners and/or Hiring Committees for their markets. Coordinate On-Campus outreach and 1L Receptions at their assigned law schools (Panels, Sponsorships, On-Campus Events, etc.).
Summer Program
Coordinate all aspects of summer program for their markets including summer housing, section and office placements, first-day orientation, social programming (lunches, dinners, and other outside activities). Have constant contact with each summer associate. Attend most of the summer program events. Prepare summaries of summer associate evaluations. Lead weekly Summer Associate Representative and/or Committee meetings. Send all summer program correspondence to summer associates and attorneys. Coordinate end of summer off process. If in Dallas, assist with the planning and implementation of the Dallas Fast Track program.
Lateral Program
Organize aspects of lateral recruitment including screening resumes, communicate with Sections Heads Chairs/DAPs/Board Liaisons to determine lateral needs, communications with candidates, scheduling interviews, and communicate with legal search firms. Handle all conflict and background paperwork. Assist with selection of mentors and supervisors for new hires. Greet candidates and assist with day-of logistics. Responsible for tracking candidates “in process” in the system and on the portal page for assigned markets.
Attorney Integration Program
Help organize the integration of new attorneys. Coordinate events for attorneys including integration meetings, dinners and lunches, welcome happy hours and receptions, holiday parties, and all events, programs and initiatives related to the Attorney Integration Committee.
Other Duties
Other responsibilities include assisting the Director and Managers with all aspects of recruiting as needed. Research the market for information on peer firms. Organize and analyze this information for presentation to firm leadership.
Reporting Relationship
The Recruiting Coordinator reports directly to the Manager of Entry-Level Recruiting and supports Director of Attorney Recruitment, Managers, with strong accountability to the Firm Hiring Partner and Office Hiring Partners for their markets.
Subordinate Staff: 1 Recruiting Assistant/Assistant Recruiting Coordinator, 1 Temporary Recruiting Intern.
Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously under strict deadlines.
- 2+ years recruiting experience (preferably in a professional service industry).

Physical Demands
Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc. Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. When coordinating/attending special events, might be required to move around up to 100% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.
Working Conditions
Hybrid schedule. Required to be in office for a minimum of three days per week, with the option to work remotely up to two days per week.
