Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Law Student Intern to join our dynamic legal team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in the immigration legal field. The ideal candidate will assist with various legal tasks, including research, drafting documents, and supporting our attorneys in their daily activities. This position is designed to provide practical exposure to the workings of a law firm while enhancing your skills in legal analysis and writing.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support ongoing cases and projects.
- Assist attorneys with legal drafting, and other necessary documents.
- Analyze case files and summarize findings for review by supervising attorneys.
- Supportl with various administrative tasks related to case management.
- Participate in client meetings and take notes to ensure accurate documentation of discussions.
- Collaborate with paralegals and other interns on assigned projects, fostering teamwork and professional development.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations that may impact ongoing cases.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law.
- Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex information effectively.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and writing, demonstrating clarity and attention to detail.
- Immigration Law classes or clinic is a plus.
- Experience using legal research tools such as Westlaw is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and contributing to the firm’s success.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
