Position Overview: Legal for Good, a woman-owned law firm founded in 2010 that focuses on advising nonprofit organizations, is seeking a Law Clerk interested in nonprofit business law to join our team.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of nonprofit law. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys with both legal and administrative work, particularly in helping client form nonprofit organizations. This is an ideal steppingstone for a law student who wants to explore what a career in nonprofit law truly looks like in practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys to support nonprofit clients in a wide range of legal and administrative matters
Assist clients to transform their philanthropic ideas into legal business entities
Draft organizational documents, including articles of incorporation and bylaws
Prepare IRS applications and other government registrations
Conduct research and summarize findings to support client advisement and internal projects
Support daily law firm operations by managing logistics, which may include purchasing supplies or equipment, assisting with errands, and providing general staff support.

Qualifications:

Enthusiastic, quick learner with a genuine interest in gaining hands-on experience and tackling complex challenges
Excellent research and analytical skills, with successful completion of at least one year of law school
Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail
Prior experience with business planning, nonprofit development, or related areas is a plus
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, effective, and practical advice and guidance
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a collaborative, team-based environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (required)
Comfortable with technology and able to quickly adapt to new software and applications
Reliable transportation
