BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned
- Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
- Develops skills needed for career in industrial distribution.
- Supports assigned manager with business project work.
- Presents intern project results to business leaders.
- Perform independent research.
- Assists General Counsel with daily activities for the legal department.
- Assists General Counsel with the Board of Directors meeting minutes.
- Arranges all legal files and creates a legal index.
- May assist General Counsel with contract work for government team.
- Assists with the preparation and filing of legal documents with various state and federal agencies/offices as required.
- Ensures the maintenance of confidential corporate records, minute books, files and related papers.
- Assists with legal research and preparation of reports and presentations, as needed.
- Obtains due diligence information (including records/abstracts from state and federal agencies) and preparing related reports/abstracts/summaries.
- Screens incoming correspondence and refers materials requiring immediate attention to appropriate personnel as directed by General Counsel.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Excellent academic record.
SKILLS:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
- Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A valid driver’s license is required.
Starting hourly pay - $20.00 per hour
