Migliaccio & Rathod LLP (“M&R”) – a private public interest law firm in Washington D.C. with a practice focused on class action litigation in the areas of Consumer Protection and Wage Theft – seeks an intern for the fall. This is a rare opportunity for a talented college student in the DMV area interested in public interest law to become an integral part of a busy practice. This may also be a good fit for a student looking for an office placement in connection with a semester in DC program.
About the Job
The Intern will work to support the firm by assisting in research and outreach about possible cases for the firm to take on. They will also assist the paralegal team in handling administrative and substantive responsibilities for the office, such as client communication, social media marketing related to cases and potential cases, general administrative tasks, and plugging in where is needed to the work of our small and thriving law office. The successful applicant will be exposed to a variety of challenging projects and will gain valuable experience and exposure to a variety of legal work.
Qualifications
We are looking for a bright and energetic college student with an interest in the work we do and strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. A qualified candidate should be detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects and effectively solve problems while remaining calm in deadline-driven situations. This job may be well suited for a college student in the DC area.
Compensation
Pay will be at an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour. The position will be classified as non-exempt and, therefore, eligible for overtime pay. Expected hours worked are 30-40 a week.
