Job Overview:
The Intern for the Legal Department will provide support to the legal team in a wide variety of legal projects, including but not limited to projects related to employment and labor law, immigration, product liability, safety, and record retention/management. The Intern must be able to perform his or her duties ethically, with integrity and professionalism, and protect confidential information. From time to time, the intern will work with internal business partners and will also gain experience in process improvement and implementation. The internship is designed to be both educational and practical.
Responsibilities:
- Work on a broad array of legal related topics
- Provides support in functional areas of a legal department
- Assists in the collection of internal and external information for reports and research
- Prepares and edits correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Works directly with internal partners to understand project concept, objectives, and approach
- Supports the implementation of legal tasks and initiatives
- Assists with administrative support as needed
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings, as requested
- Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Rising 2L or 3L Law student with an interest in working in-house post-graduation
- Preferred candidates are currently enrolled in law school
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team based environment
- Proficient working in a multi-cultural environment
- Desire for continuous development and learning opportunities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
