The City of North Myrtle Beach HR department is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our team. Under regular supervision, this 6-month internship offers hands-on experience in various HR functions. Duties include, but are not limited to, onboarding seasonal new hires, data entry, and maintaining and updating employee records. Additional duties include ensuring compliance with City policies by assisting in organizing and maintaining accurate HR documentation. The ideal candidate is a current student or recent graduate looking to gain real-world HR experience in a dynamic environment.Requires a mature individual with preferably a high school diploma or GED equivalent with two (2) years of experience in clerical-administrative work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with periods of time spent manipulating files and may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
