SUMMARY
The Legal Intern will assist the Legal Department with the day-to-day legal affairs of the Seattle Seahawks and its affiliated entity, First & Goal Inc. This position may be structured as a paid, hourly internship or as a for-credit internship/externship, subject to applicable ABA rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing and drafting a variety of agreements, waivers, consents and real estate and finance documents
- Conducting legal research using Lexis and/or Westlaw and drafting research memoranda
- Working closely with business units to anticipate, identify and manage legal exposure
- Reviewing and drafting legal correspondence
- Assisting with the management of litigation matters and other claims
- Participating in special projects, as requested
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong research, analytical and investigative skills
- Ability to conduct legal research using Lexis and/or Westlaw
- Ability to document, synthesize and present findings in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent proofreading skills and strong attention to detail
- Understanding of basic contract concepts and legal terminology
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude and a desire to learn
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and interests
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- High level of personal integrity and professional ethics
- Demonstrated honesty, responsibility and reliability in fulfilling commitments
TIMEFRAME
- August 2026 – December 2026 (start and end dates are flexible by a few weeks; the internship will cover most of the 2026 NFL pre-season and regular season)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school or have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school within the last year
- Must be available to work on-site at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton, WA, no fewer than 40 hours per week during the Seattle Seahawks’ 2026 pre-season and regular season. This position is not remote or hybrid
- Must have authorization to work in the United States
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The position will be paid hourly unless structured as a for-credit internship/externship in compliance with ABA rules and regulations
- The intern is responsible for housing, travel and relocation expenses
- A background check will be conducted prior to the start of the internship
- There is no opportunity for transition into a full-time role within the Legal Department following the conclusion of the internship. This is a temporary position

COMPENSATION
- The hourly rate for this position is $22.75
- The hourly rate applies to the current posting and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related knowledge, experience and skill set
