As a law clerk, you'll work on basic cases and/or projects with general supervision and on more complex cases and/or projects with direct supervision.
Job Description
As a Legal Intern within our Trial Division, you’ll work on basic cases and/or projects with general supervision and on more complex cases and/or projects with direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides basic analysis of cases and/or projects and may make recommendations to more senior attorneys.
 - Research legal precedents, defines legal and factual issues, drafts legal documents and develops conclusions and recommendations.
 - Assists attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations and trials
 - Interacts with senior management as needed.
 - Works as a team member on multiple group/client assignments.
 - May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
 
Reporting Relationships: Reports to General Counsel or Trial Management.
Please Note: This internship runs from May - August. This internship will only support those that are local to our offices in PA, GA, CA and NY. Housing will not be provided. 
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
 - Strong interest in corporate environment litigation, insurance and business industries.
 - Analytical ability to interpret statutes, regulations and contracts.
 - Possess decision-making abilities to prioritize and coordinate projects and cases.
 - Strong commitment to teamwork and customer focus
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program. At its sole discretion, Nationwide determines whether to offer sponsorship for qualifying positions based on business need and budget. However, it is not usually available for entry level roles.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.
The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is: $21 - $50
