Litchfield Cavo is seeking a Law Clerk in our Tampa, FL office for our summer program. Only students who have completed at least one year of law school are invited to apply.

The individual(s) must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with the following:
· ability to work independently and as part of a team;
· demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills;
· excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills;
· ability to be proactive and flexible while working on multiple cases; and
· knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an associate with Litchfield Cavo, depending on your skill set and case complexity, you will assist or take the lead in responsibility for multiple cases from inception to trial. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform your job successfully:
1. assist in case assessment and strategy
2. draft, prepare and assume responsibility for pleadings, motions, court hearings and ;
3. comprehensive document review and assessment;
4. draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions;
5. conduct legal research competently and with proficiency;
6. prepare and take depositions of parties, witnesses and experts;
7. assist with and participate in mediations and settlement conferences; and,
8. interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staff.
