Troutman Pepper Strategies’ Washington, DC office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the firm's federal lobbying team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legislative process, policy analysis, and advocacy strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in government affairs and public policy.

This program will run from August 24th to December 11th, 2026. Exact dates are flexible depending on the circumstances of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in monitoring and analyzing federal legislation and regulatory developments.
Conduct research on policy issues relevant to our clients and prepare briefing materials.
Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
Attend congressional hearings, briefings, and other relevant events to gather information and insights.
Assist in maintaining and updating client databases and contact lists.
Provide administrative support to the lobbying team as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide high-quality service and partner effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within the firm as well as external contacts.
Good communicator; strong writing, research, and editing skills.
Solid judgment; critical thinking skills; self-starter; attentive to detail; a sense of teamwork; ability to handle multiple tasks.

Education and/or Experience:

High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college.
Experience in word processing and spreadsheets programs and associated tasks.
