Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to support our Legal Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit legal research, document preparation, compliance analysis, and more within a dynamic and mission-driven organization. Internship will last for the summer, and possibly fall depending on the intern’s schedule.

Core Responsibilities

Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of topics, including compliance, legislation, contracts, and regulatory issues.
Draft, review, and edit legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
Assist with the preparation of legal memos, reports, and presentations.
Track current legislation as it relates to human trafficking and child exploitation.
Support attorneys in case management, including organizing case files and maintaining documentation.
Attend meetings and take notes on legal discussions, providing summaries and follow-up actions as needed.
Monitor and summarize recent legal developments, regulations, and case law relevant to the organization.
Perform administrative tasks to support the legal team, as required.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited law school.
Strong academic record with a focus on legal studies.
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Legal knowledge of the non-profit sector.
Hybrid work environment dependent on intern’s schedule
