Internship Opportunities

The Office of Legislative Affairs has internships available for currently enrolled undergraduate and law students. A position as a legislative intern provides an excellent opportunity for learning about the interplay between the U.S. Department of Justice and Congress.

OLA interns participate in a variety of legislative and administrative tasks including:

  • Attending congressional Hearings and Briefings
  • Preparing written and oral summaries of congressional hearings
  • Reviewing congressional correspondence and hearing transcripts
  • Working with OLA staff to prepare and organize materials for Department witnesses testifying before Congress
  • Reviewing and tracking legislation introduced in Congress

In person positions are available for fall, spring, and summer semesters. Preference will be given to full-time applicants, but all applications will be given full consideration.
