J Kelley Law Group is a fast-growing, community-focused law firm that provides high-quality legal services in immigration, family law, and personal injury. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in a busy law firm setting. The ideal candidate will assist with various legal tasks, including research, document review, and drafting, while gaining exposure to real-world legal practices.

Duties

Assisting with scanning, copying, and printing documents.
Organizing and preparing legal packets for mailing.
Handling outgoing and incoming mail.
Helping with administrative and clerical tasks.
Supporting case preparation and file organization.
Assisting with technology-based tasks (document management, online filing systems, etc.).
Having the opportunity to attend court hearings with the attorney to gain real-world experience.
Assist in the drafting legal documents and correspondence.

Skills

Bilingual (English and Spanish) – this is a must; the majority of our clients are Spanish-speaking.
Strong computer and technology skills; ability to learn new systems quickly.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as with a team.
Professional demeanor and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Interest in law, immigration, or related fields preferred (but prior legal experience is not required).
Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research databases such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role. This internship provides a valuable opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment while contributing to meaningful work within our legal team.
