Legal Administrative Assistant Trainee

This position will be mentored by an experienced member of our legal administrative support team and provided with training to ultimately advance to a Legal Administrative Assistant position. The person selected for this position must be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. This position requires in office support and may become eligible for a hybrid work schedule after an extended training period.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit legal documents, correspondence and reports from rough draft form.
  • Provide administrative support to assigned attorneys, such as calendaring, preparing letters and emails, coordinating travel arrangements and managing attorney contact and client lists.
  • Input invoices and expense reports in Chrome River for processing.
  • Assist in requesting conflict of interest reports with the appropriate department and opening new clients and/or matters through the Firm’s software program.
  • Prepare client binders for the practice area to which assigned, and prepare client documents with signing instructions, where appropriate.
  • Perform overflow assistance to attorneys and legal support staff in a team environment.

 Experience and Education Qualifications

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working in an administrative capacity required.
  • Prior experience which required excellent organizational and communication skills preferred.
