 Financial Services Paralegal Program

Recognized as “one of the best derivatives practices in the country, without a shadow of a doubt” by Chambers USA, the Financial Services Practice at Fried Frank represents investment banks, asset management firms and other financial institutions with industry-leading expertise in both derivatives and structured products. The practice is led by a distinguished partner that is consistently recognized as a leading lawyer in the capital markets and securitization spaces, and supported by a team of outstanding transactional attorneys that advise clients on equity, currency, commodity and fixed-income structured products.

The Financial Services Practice is known for its fast-paced and collaborative environment, of which the group’s paralegals are a key component. These paralegals are comprised of ambitious candidates with a keen interest in law or finance that are seeking real world legal experience before embarking on their law school educations. Financial services paralegals enjoy a broad range of responsibilities, such as drafting and coordinating execution of transaction documents, performing extensive legal research, and reviewing detailed filings before they are submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Paralegals work closely under the financial services lawyers to deliver the highest caliber of legal representation to their clients on every matter.

If selected for the Financial Services Paralegal Program, candidates will be expected to serve a two-year commitment in support of the practice as full-time employees, receiving significant exposure to professionals in the fields of securities law, tax law, equity derivative sales, securities trading and asset management. To foster their growth and development toward future legal careers, paralegals are also granted pre-designated leaves of absence to prepare for the LSAT exam and the law school application process.

Upon successful completion of the two-year program, it is common for legacy paralegals to be considered for associate positions with the group, whether as part of a summer associate program during law school or a full-time associate role upon passing of the bar exam. This role is an excellent opportunity for interested parties, who can expect to participate in an immersive and engaging professional environment on a daily basis.

Please note, this program is for our US offices only. If you are interested in applying, view the current opportunities available on our website. We look forward to connecting with you!
