About the Fellowship

Climate Corps is a full-time fellowship program, typically 10-12 months.

Early-Career Competencies

​SEI’s Climate Corps program hosts a rigorous training program for all Fellows aligned with early-career competencies for sustainability professionals, including equity, resilience, innovation, stewardship and collaboration.

Hands-On Workshops

​The intensive orientation and monthly training program allows participants to build knowledge about the climate field and reach their professional development goals.

Professional Skills 

Upon program completion, Fellows are equipped with career-launching skills such as energy and greenhouse gas technical tools, project management, grant writing, data analysis, community outreach, and networking.

Candidate Qualifications

We are looking for emerging professionals who have a baseline of education and experience to build on in this fellowship. Desired qualifications include:

  • A college degree preferred
  • An environmental degree or relevant work experience (ex. internships, volunteer experience)
  • Experience in addressing and the drive to address racism and create race equity with team members and programmatically
  • Be authorized to work for any employer in the United States (check here to verify if you qualify)
  • For Climate Corps Education Outside Fellowships only you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Willingness to live in the state where the position is located, relocating prior to the start of the fellowship if necessary

Fellowship Benefits

In exchange for their service, each Fellow receives: 

  • A monthly stipend starting at $3,450
  • $1,000 end-of-program financial award​
  • Health care coverage with 100% of health care insurance premiums covered by employer.
  • Extensive professional and personal development training including:
  • ​Career-readiness training in interview preparation, salary negotiation, and developing a professional resume and cover letter
  • Attending panels, workshops, and presentations by climate resilience industry professionals 
  • Professional networking opportunities
