The challenge
Across the country, many K-12 students can benefit from additional support, relationships and resources so they can engage more deeply with their learning, stay on track academically, and graduate from high school prepared for college and career. And our AmeriCorps members, young adults, ages 17 to 25, can develop critical workforce and interpersonal skills and access exclusive scholarships through a year of service with City Year, helping them to achieve their goals.
What we do
Supporting students and schools
City Year AmeriCorps members serve in schools all day, every day, preparing students with academic, workforce and interpersonal skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
Developing civic leaders
City Year AmeriCorps members not only make a difference in the lives of students they serve but also acquire valuable workforce skills that help them and prepare them to be leaders in their communities and their careers.
Sharing promising practices
As City Year continues to innovate alongside our school and district partners, we aim to share what we are learning and contribute to a broader conversation about how to ensure greater access to learning opportunities and improved academic outcomes for all students.
